DAY 3
A study of changing thoughts and attitudes...
How do you respond to change?
The idea of change can be quite daunting, but it can also be an exciting opportunity for a life altering experience.
Learning new ways of thinking, seeing, feeling, and processing life leads to LIBERATION from fear. Fear could be defined as the weaknesses and insecurities that plague us and keep us from experiencing life as a gift rather than a curse.
I had the privilege of being in the company of great minds and the discussion veered toward the subject of blame-shifting vs. accepting responsibility.
The example used:
Standing in front of a mirror, spraying shaving cream on the mirror, then taking the razor and shaving the mirror will not remove your stubble.
Another example regarding the subject at hand:
Being in an abusive relationship where the other forces their will upon you, and blaming them for the trauma will not lead to growth. However, accepting responsibility, by seeking out the root cause for allowing the abuse, will bring about tremendous growth and ensure that the cycle will no longer be repeated.
The attitude of...
I'm Sorry - for seeking the problem in you!
Please forgive me - for not allowing us to grow!
Thank you - for the lessons you taught me!
I love you - you are free!
will go a long way toward the development of personal growth and evolution..
Stretch yourself!
Be honest!
See every day as new and filled with opportunities for new beginnings.
Nature is our best teacher!
Look at the sky, never the same from one moment to the next, the air filled with bird songs that don't have the same melodic ring, yet sound in perfect harmony.
She is constantly growing, changing, sometimes making deep inarticulate sounds in her growing pains, but on she surges, ever removing the creases... this is the journey of life.
Plato said; a life without growth is not worth living! WOW!
The world changed while I was asleep. I woke up & found that my vision had changed. I felt life's sweet gentle embrace on my cheek while she touched my hair with a whisper, "Keep growing & loving."
